Leviticus 23:23-25
The Feast of Trumpets Given!
23 Then the LORD spoke to Moses,
saying, 24 “Speak to the children of
Israel, saying: ‘In the seventh month,
on the first day of the month, you
shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial
of blowing of trumpets, a holy
convocation. 25 You shall do no
customary work on it; and you shall
offer an offering made by fire to the
LORD.’”
Rosh HaShana
Rosh HaShana Begins Thursday. Rosh
Hashana, also known as the Feast of
Trumpets or the Jewish New Year, begins
at sundown on Thursday, September
29th. The Biblical holiday is perhaps
most well-known for the sounding of the
shofar horn, which is done at holiday
services around the world. The day is a
time of repentance and begins the Days
of Awe that culminate with Yom Kippur,
or the Day of Atonement. In Israel, it is a
national holiday.

Scripture
 John 15:1-5 (Feast of Unleavened
Bread and First Fruits)

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the
vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does
not bear fruit He takes away; and
every branch that bears fruit He prunes,
that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are
already clean because of the word which I
have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in
you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of
itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither
can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He
who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much
fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

And to pray before the
LORD.’

It shall come to pass in that day
That there will be no light;
The lights will diminish.
7 It shall be one day
Which is known to the LORD—
Neither day nor night.
But at evening time it shall happen
That it will be light.
8 And in that day it shall be
That living waters shall flow from Jerusalem,
Half of them toward the eastern sea
And half of them toward the western sea;
In both summer and winter it shall occur.
