Signs and Symptoms
• Pain in the centre of the chest may wrap
around body.
• May spread to arm. neck, jaw, throat,
abdomen, back.
• Short of breath.
• Feeling sick.
• Feeling weak or dizzy.
• Sweating.

Treatment
• Sit them down and reassure.
• Don’t give them anything to eat or drink.
• Be prepared to resuscitate.

Choking occurs when a ‘Foreign body’ gets
stuck in the back of the throat blocking the
entrance to the windpipe.
