The initial set up is of a river supplying sediment from the left into the ocean. The
sediments deposited near sea level, where wave action and river forces can dominate will
be different than the sediments deposited offshore, which can be dominated by storms
and flood events, which will be quite different than sediments deposited in deeper and
quieter waters. These three different types of sediments are labeled here as delta top-set
sediments, delta foreset sediments and delta bottom-set sediments. Click to see what
