The caller can then listen to conversations within 14m, for up to four

Long enough, though, to listen into a board meeting or takeover

In the past week the buzz around Perth business circles has been that
a WA mining company swept its offices recently and found a bug - not

Last year in his final public appearance as Woodside chief executive, Don
Voelte belled the cat and said that the major resource firms were under
constant cyber attack - and not just from China. "It comes from
everywhere. It comes from eastern Europe, it comes from Russia. Just
don't pick on the Chinese, it's everywhere," he said.

surveillance budget is greater than its military one.

China – Expansion vs. Peace
1998 – China, through the private Macau Tourist
Venture purchased the Varyag ,a partially
complete and stripped of military hardware
aircraft carrier from the Ukraine.
On 10 August 2011, it was announced that the refurbishment of Varyag
was complete, and that it was undergoing sea trials.[
On December 14, 2011, DigitalGlobe, and American Satellite imaging
company announced that while scouring through pictures taken
December 8th, they had discovered the retrofitted Varyag performing
maneuvers, DigitalGlobe elaborated that their images capture the ship in
the Yellow Sea where it performed for 5 days. [
Recent Chinese military exploits have included humanitarian aid,
combating piracy in the Gulf of Aden and counter-terrorism operations.
The Pentagon cited as an example China's evacuation of 36,000 Chinese
nationals from Libya during the 2011 uprising against Moammar Gadhafi

A new and permanent U.S.

which China considers as its

All the way with the USA? How
Darwin received its US troops
November 9, 2012
When the “enduring presence” of US marines in Darwin was announced
locals were too giddy by Obama’s presence to question it. Justin Tutty from
BaseWatch examines what happened when they arrived.
The forces say we can expect a similar well-managed tour next year, while
the following rotation will have larger numbers, bring their own hardware,
and concentrate on objectives beyond community relations. The ADF has
produced a report weighing up likely impacts of next year’s visit of 250
marines. This week, the local paper reported that the US will be looking to
raise numbers even beyond that, and it is now understood that discussions
last year considered a presence of as many as 7500.
However, increasing the emerging presence from an initial 200 to 2500 —
or more — won’t be so easily glossed over. Whether the US troop
numbers stop at the announced 2500, or grow to 7500, the permanent
presence is going to have an impact on our town.

Rules for US troops in NT kept secret
November 11, 2012
A SECRET document that the government said did not exist and
which outlines the rights, role and responsibilities of US forces in
Australia is being kept from the public, due to concerns it would
affect the relationship with America.
The document, classified ''Secret'' and signed in 2010 by the then
US defence secretary, Robert Gates, and Australia's Defence
Minister, Stephen Smith, is the only document created since 1963
that provides some official guidance for US troops in Australia.
That includes the permanent rotational placement of what will be,
by 2016, 2500 US marines in the Northern Territory.
