Task 6.1 Demonstration to Maritime Transport (NAVTOR, NERSC, Ifremer, NIERSC)
Numerical forecasts of waves and ice will be processed in the Barents Sea and Kara Sea accompanied with special delivery
of satellite data in the area. …..

The real-time forecast demonstration should be in time for the opening of the Shtokman field in the Barents Sea
(2015/2016) where remote sensing data will be available for validation. These results will be presented to NAVTOR’s
targeted users, to the oil and gas industry involved in Shtokman, and related users (insurance companies covering ships, the
Norwegian Coast Guards and the Norwegian Navy) at the launch of the service. The information presented will include
The product quality information from WP5
Evidence of stable and reliable data delivery (timeliness and availability of service)
A demonstration of web-GIS data services from WP7.
The users’ feedback will be collected during the user workshop, …..
