Who are Sikhs????
• Word “SIKH” means disciple, to
“learn”. Pupil in the school of God
• Follow teachings of the ten masters
and eternal Guru (Guru Granth Sahib
Ji)
• Began 1469 with Guru Nanak Dev Ji
• Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji 1708 to date

So what was it like around 1469?
Mugals in rule (Babar)
High Hindu population.
High in tyranny , segregation, social conflicts. Life wasn’t
easy.
Mugal expoliting the population by forced religious
conversions.
Meanwhile Hindu population was strongly influenced by
people labelled as Superior from birth or High Cast
(Brahmans).
Class based society based on superstitions and ritualism
– Sati
– The low caste shadow….
– We cant prayer together…sorry
