• You are going to build your own vocabulary list with
words on pages R22-R27.
• Divide your paper into four different sections.

• Your lists do not have to only be comprised of words on
page R22. You may look throughout the chapter to find
words to include.
LAS FARSAS
• We are now going to play charades with your new
vocabulary words.
• We will split into 2 teams: Team A and Team B.
• One at a time, I will give you a word. You will come
up with a charade or draw a picture to convey the
meaning of the word.
• Your group will have 20 seconds to guess the
meaning of your vocabulary word and gain points
for the team.
• After 15 seconds, you will hear a buzzer and the
vocabulary word will be revealed, but no points will
be given to your team.
SER VS. ESTAR: HOW TO CHOOSE THE VERB “TO BE”
• Many of you may think that it’s easy. SER are
“permanent” things, and ESTAR are “temporary”
things. While this is correct in a couple of cases, it
really isn’t correct for a bunch of others.

• Ser is used to tell where

is from. It is also used to

trait or characteristic.

a temporary state or
condition.
