About University Police



UAPD is comprised of 79 authorized
sworn positions and 17 support
positions. All police officers are
certified by the State of Alabama and
have full arrest powers.
Officers are on duty 24 hours a day,
365 days a year.

The C.O.P.’s or Community Oriented Policing
division is a group of officers that work in the
residence halls with the students providing education
and support to student s in the various residential
communities.
UAPD educates students with programs conducted
throughout the semester by the C.O.P. Division.
Some programs presented are:
Alcohol Awareness
Conflict Resolution
Drug Awareness
Sexual Assault Awareness
Theft Prevention

appropriate controlled access point.

them e.g., phones, wallets or
purses, backpacks, keys, and
