Racingpost: Useful ex-Flat horse Centurius is worth noting in the
betting but as things stand, this is likely to be between HASSLE and
King's Tempest who both showed plenty of promise on their respective
hurdling debuts late last year. Hassle was decent on the Flat and, with
improvement distinctly possible with that initial experience behind him,
is taken to repeat the stable's win in this last year. [Mel Cullinan]
Racingpost: A chance is taken on the return to Newbury (he is three
from six here) bringing about a return to peak form from HANDY ANDY,
who is weighted to run a big one on the best of this season's efforts.
Old-timer Carruthers is eased in both grade and the weights and may

Racingpost: Up-and-coming novice O Maonlai is very much respected
even after a 15lb rise for his latest novice handicap win here, such was
the ease of that win. Preference though is for PERSIAN SNOW, who is
of strong interest off the same mark as when a good, clear second on
his reappearance at Cheltenham in October and who has been running
in better-contested races than this since. Last year's winner Pepite
Rose is third best and the most interesting of the remainder. [Mel

Racingpost: Golden Doyen had a very solid record before his fall at
Cheltenham last week but has to give at least 12lb all round as a result.
While he is respected and the likes of Lil Rockerfeller and Eminent Poet
make each-way appeal, STORM FORCE TEN (nap) looks the one to be
on. Pretty useful on the Flat and having shaped well over hurdles, he
was too well handicapped to get into last week's big 4yo handicap at
Cheltenham and can make amends by winning this.[Richard Austen]

Racingpost: Nicky Henderson's superb haul in this race over the years
is one good reason to focus on SPARTAN ANGEL at the foot of the
weights but there is also her racing record and she looks set for a very
bold show judged on her last-time-out second in a 2m6f handicap at
Ascot in December. With so many making their handicap debuts and
stepping up in trip, in a field packed with promising, unexposed mares,
there is clearly no shortage of possible dangers. Queen Of The Stage
catches the eye now that Lizzie Kelly can claim her 7lb again - she
couldn't when clashing with several of these in a Listed race last time and others that need respect include Twentytwo's Taken, Tara Mist and
