• Objectives: searching databases such as PubMed/Medline, Web of
Science of the ISI (Institute for Scientific Information) and Scopus of
Elsevier.
• At the end, students should be able to:
- search PubMed/Medline, using search strategies by subject (MeSH –
Medical Subject Headings) and by refining results;
- know the basic functionalities of the references databases (Web of
Science and Scopus);
- recognize ways to access the full text of documents cited in the
databases.
• Objectives: to improve the bibliographic referencing skills for a doctoral
thesis, a scientific article or a monograph, including creating
bibliographic databases using EndNote and entering and managing
references in documents created with this software.
• At the end of the training session students should:
- know the main features and functionalities of the EndNote software;
- be able to manage bibliographic references and libraries using EndNote;
- be able to enter bibliographic references in a Word document.
Evaluation: Multiple choice or test at the end of each class
