TWO SENTENCE HORROR
STORIES
Great review of sentence structure on
Halloween.
The last man on earth sat
alone in a room. There was a
knock at the door.
After stumbling into the abandoned
shack and nearly dead from thirst, we
drank heavily from the jug we found
inside. That's when I noticed her, blood
draining from her face, point to where
the water had been: an empty bottle of
rat poison lay on its side.
He read the puzzling, meticulously
folded note that had been placed upon
the dinner table: "If you run now you
might still have a chance to live."
Comprehension came only shortly after
he felt the enormous, monstrous
presence moving behind him.
I walked to the curb wondering what
idiot drives his ice cream truck down
the street at three in the morning with
the music blaring. Just as I noticed there
was nobody behind the wheel of the
parked vehicle I heard my front door
slam shut, and my children begin to
scream.
I begin tucking him into bed and he
tells me, “Daddy check for monsters
under my bed.” I look underneath for
his amusement and see him, another
him, under the bed, staring back at me
quivering and whispering, “Daddy
there’s somebody on my bed.”
As I awoke to footsteps on
the creaky stairs, I asked
"Who's there?" "Nobody,"
said the shadow standing
under the hallway light.
YOUR TASK…
With a partner, work to write at least 10 two sentence horror stories. Make
sure that you pay close attention to punctuation of your sentences that have to
be more complex than what you usually write.
We will share with the class.
Can’t wait to read what you come up with.
