Prayer offered in faith will make the sick person
well; the Lord will raise them up.
James 5:15

The Ebola virus continues to spread across West Africa. It has claimed 4,500
lives so far and has had devastating consequences for another 550,000 people.
Children are being left orphaned and the economy has ground to a halt.
Our trusted network of local church partners are distributing hygiene kits and
ensuring life-saving health messages are understood, as well as providing food
for quarantined families and issuing protective equipment.
But there are many people we still need to reach.
Please pray…

(Leader): Lord God our comforter, we pray for communities affected by the
current Ebola outbreak. We lift up the thousands of families who have lost loved
ones, and ask that they will be comforted and kept safe from infection.

(All): Lord, you are the God who comforts. Please bring your solace to people
who are mourning and your peace to those who are afraid.
(Leader): We lift up individuals in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea who are
infected by the virus. We pray that they will have access to medical care and
be restored to full health.
(All): Lord God our healer, we pray that medical workers will be kept safe and
free from the virus.
(Leader): Father, we pray for the people of West Africa who are living in fear and
distress because of the Ebola outbreak. We pray that effective prevention
measures will be put in place, and ask that medical supplies and hygiene kits will
reach those most in need. We pray also for protection of Tearfund partner staff and
other aid workers in the area.
(All): Lord Jesus, you who healed the sick, we ask you to raise up people
struck down by Ebola, and stop this deadly virus from causing more
suffering and death. Amen.
