Social Studies is an important
component of education.
Along with other subjects, Social
Studies gives the students
knowledge and understanding of
the CONCRETE REALITIES
and situations of life, and aims at
developing the skills to deal with
several demands of day-to-day.
OBJECTIVES
• To help the children to understand and observe
the socio-cultural environment.
• To inculcate social values in children to work as
a team, share ideas, cooperate and share
responsibilities.
• To develop the skills of map reading, drawing
diagrams, collecting pictures and information.
• To enhance knowledge through a multidisciplinary approach from various areas of
social studies.
THE PRESENT BOOK
Social Studies has been introduced for the first time in
Class four.
