How will I be assessed?
A Level is a two-year linear course.
Students will be assessed at the end of Y13.
Breadth Study - 40% of overall mark (2 hour 30 minute exam)
Depth Study - 40% of overall mark (2 hour 30 minute exam)
Coursework – 20% of overall mark (3000 word essay)
What about AS Level?
It will be possible to take a standalone AS module at the end
of Y12 if a student is not going to take History into Y13.
The exam at AS will test the first half of both breadth study
and depth study course. There will not be a coursework
requirement.
The skills required for AS are linked to full A level skills.
These courses are therefore co-teachable.
