Pig’s head
In the island of Bali theatre, music and dance are the
very core of social and religious life, the expression
of a culture where aesthetic and devotion are
harmoniously linked. Topeng is one of the most old
and popular style of the Balinese theatre. Its
performance celebrates, between myth and history,
the epos of old courts, providing as well an hilarious
entertainment for everybody. The story of King
Bedahulu narrates the events of the mythologized
Javanese conquest of Bali in the fourteenth century,
namely how an ascetic king found himself with the
head of a pig.

Sidha Karya: the divine stranger
"Sidha Karya", means literally "who has the power to fulfill the
work (the rite)", his appearence is necessary for the proper
achievement of each ceremonial Topeng. His vigorous and wild
dance raises the hilarious amazement of onlookers and the
attention of the demons, thus allowing the high priest (who works
in Balinese temple very closed) to carry out undisturbed his ritual
prayer to sanctify the water.
The story of the birth of this mask reveals a conflict nowadays still
very current: the relationship with the stranger. Clear its moral
warning: people cannot live happy and at peace, if dispels the
stranger as an enemy. A community that fails to incorporate
positively what appears potentially destructive, is vulnerable. "The
Other" is our brothers.

Sir Gawayn and the Grene Knyght
adapted and interpreted by Enrico Masseroli
An amazing and exciting story from the most beautiful novel in
verse of the European tradition of chivalry. King Arthur is
celebrating the New Year in Camelot, around him the knights of
the Round Table "in splendid feast and carefree pleasure". When
suddenly come forward the "wonderful" in person: a giant
knight on horseback, "both of purest green." Has an ax in his
hand "monstrous and enormous." Proposes a challenge that
shakes. Gawain, pearl of the knights, will to pick it up. Within
an enchanted courteous frame, among castles, hunts and ladies
expert in risky skirmishes of love, we are captivated by the myth: the relationship between the hero
and the fate, i.e. the Enemy / Master of lif
