Louis Riel was the oldest of eleven kids .
Louis had the same name as his Dad his name was Louis
Riel and his mother name was Julie . They were Catholic.

When he was seven he want to a school in St.
Boniface that was run by the Grey Nuns. When
he was older he went to the college in Montréal
to become a priest. but he dropped out.

He was the Secretary of the National
Committee of the Métis and then become
the President.

Louis Riel was 41 when he died.
He was executed for treason in
Regina, Saskatchewan.
I was found
guilty of
treason.
He is buried in the
St. Boniface Cathedral Cemetery
To honour his memory there is a street
named Riel Avenue in Winnipeg.
There is a holiday named after him.
Louis Riel day is in February.
