CONCEPT AND VISION
While history, geography, art and architecture
are unique for every region, let us understand,
beyond these….
what is truly unique about Mewar?
.that the Governance of Mewar was based on the concept of “
Trusteeship" and "Custodianship"
As per this commitment,
succeeding heads of the family of Mewar
have always fulfilled the sacred position
as trustees of Shri Eklingji,
a manifestation of Lord Shiva who is,
the Eternal Ruler of Mewar.
What is even more unique…..?
…. Is that the Custodianship continues till today in the
Sustainable Development by the House of Mewar
What was the strategy in the changing
political and geographical scenario…..?

In the democratic environment, the House of Mewar judiciously dispersed the
Governance of their Residual Heritage into a set of
‘Not for Profit’ and ‘For Profit’ enterprises
What is the VISION of Eternal Mewar…..?
“Today we are a living palace complex. Tomorrow I
can see this grow to become a model of self-sufficient
and self-reliant, multifaceted enterprise that is able to
generate revenues and meet expectations of the people
of Udaipur as well as foreign and Indian tourists who
visit this historic city and contribute to its growth."
Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar
(Inheritance 76, 1995)
The 76th custodian of the House of Mewar envisaged that
all ‘Not for Profit’ and ‘For Profit’ enterprises should collectively
carry the continuity of Custodianship and present a role model of
Governance and Sustenance for this century.
The Eternal Mewar ideantity© has two brackets, which represent
custodianship: Their ‘embrace’ is non-intervening, non-interfering and hold two
layers of meaning: the red tikka with rice grains, a symbol of welcoming in India,
and the rising sun, the first symbol of the House of Mewar
It is this overarching vision that integrates the gamut of
existing organisations and translates into the
21st century Heritage Brand of Eternal Mewar
