Almighty God, our heavenly Father,
we have sinned against you
and against our neighbour
in thought, word and deed,
through negligence, through weakness,
through our own deliberate fault.
We are truly sorry and repent of all our sins.
For the sake of your son Jesus Christ,
who died for us,
forgive us all that is past,
and grant that we may serve you in newness of life
to the glory of your name. Amen.

Acclamation
Listen, my people, mark each word.
I begin with a story, I speak of mysteries
welling up from ancient depths,
heard and known from our elders.
We must not hide this story from our children
but tell the mighty works
and all the wonders of God.

Psalm 46, v. 1-5, 10
God is our refuge and strength: a very present help in trouble.
God is our refuge and strength:
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be moved,
and though the mountains tremble
in the heart of the sea;
though the waters rage and swell,
and though the mountains quake
at the towering seas.
God is our refuge and strength:
a very present help in trouble.

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place of the dwelling of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her;
therefore shall she not be removed;
God shall help her at the break of day.
God is our refuge and strength:
a very present help in trouble.
’Be still and know that I am God;
I will be exalted in the nations; I will be exalted in the earth.’
God is our refuge and strength:
a very present help in trouble.

The Creed
Remembering all who have spoken before us,
let us affirm our faith in the words of the Nicene Creed:
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

The Word
The Prayers

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father,
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation, he came down from heaven,
was incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.

The Prayers
On the third day he rose again,
in accordance with the Scriptures;
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand
of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son,
he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the prophets.

The Prayers
We believe in one holy,

The Lord’s Prayer
Trusting in God’s presence with us now,
as our Saviour has taught us, so we pray:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.

You have loved us from the beginning of time
and remember us in times of fear and hope.
We thank you God, for you are gracious.
We thank you, God, for you came to us in Jesus,
who taught us the way of prayer,
the way of faithfulness, confidence and joy.
We thank you God, for you are gracious.
We thank you, God, for you have sent your Holy Spirit,
who gives us life and breath
and weaves our story with your own.

Closing Prayers
In every time, and every place, God calls a people as his own.
We have heard God’s word,
and are faithful to God’s calling.
May the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in believing,
through the power of the Holy Spirit,
and the blessing of God
Father, Son and Holy Spirit
be among us and remain with us always.
Amen.
Go in the peace of Christ.
Thanks be to God.
