Eleanor Roosevelt

history. She was born in New York City. Her birthday is October 11,
1884. She is famous for becoming our country’s first lady. She was
married to Franklin Delano Roosevelt. She is important because she
became a delegate to the United Nations. She wanted equal rights for
all people. She was a leader for women. Eleanor Roosevelt died on
November 7, 1962, but we’ll always be remembered as a teacher,
writer, and so much more.
Daniel Boone

Daniel Boone is a very important person in American
history. He was born in Exeter, Pennsylvania. His birthday is
November 2, 1734. He is famous for fighting. He helped settlers
learn to survive in the forest. He is important because he fought
the Indians and explored the woods in Indiana and Kentucky.
Daniel Boone died on September 26, 1820, but will always be
remembered.
Sue Hendrickson

important person because she discovered Dinosaur Sue, which

remembered as a leader in our country.

equal. He is important because he led a peaceful march. He led a bus
boycott. He was a pastor and he won a Nobel Peace Prize. Martin Luther King
Jr. died on April 4, 1968 but will always be remembered as a man who
wanted freedom for everyone.

and the English and saving Captain John Smith. She is important

Pocahontas married Thomas Rolfe. Pocahontas died in March of
1617, but will always be remembered as a brave woman.

18, 1955, but will always be remembered as a teacher and a worker
for equal rights.

the freedom of all people.

also invented storm windows and a special part for a plow. Thomas
Jefferson died on July 4th, 1826 but will always be remembered as a great
leader.
We would like to thank Mrs. Wright, Mrs. Ray, and Miss Ellen for
helping make this project possible. We would also like to thank the people
that help us each day at Crisman School. Through our study of biographies,
we have learned that there are heroes all around us. We have discovered that
we can all be heroes!
