Studies and former board member of Blue Shield Netherlands and ANCBS. Otter
guided the international Blue Shield rescue mission for the Historisches Archiv der
Stad Köln, that collapsed in 2009.

Jos van Beurden, researcher on issues of illicit traffic and restitution of cultural
heritage. Van Beurden will focus on the silence around objects and collections,
acquired during the European colonal era in contested manners and in
circumstances of war and violent conflict. He answers the question: What can we
contribute to it?

Edwin Maes, lecturer and researcher at the section Cultural Affairs & Information,
and liaison officer for cultural heritage, at the Dutch Ministry of Defence. What is the
army's role in the protection of cultural heritage?

Deborah Stolk, program coordinator at Prince Claus Fund. The fund runs the Cultural
Emergency Response (CER) Program. Cultural resilience in Conflict and Disaster: the
Prince Claus Funds’ cultural ambulance.

Yvette Shamier, linguist and lecturer, born in Syria close to the Crac de Chevalier,
one of the best known Crusaders castles in the world. During the last four years
Mrs. Shamier has been frequently traveling to Syria for humanitarian help, working
together with Dutch NGO's and local churches in Syria. Syria, from Splendor to
Tragedy.

Towards Huis Doorn, Langbroekerweg 10, 3941 MT Doorn (on one's own or with free
shuttle service). Huis Doorn is the former residence of the German Emperor Wilhelm
II after World War I. He was given asylum by the Dutch government. Recently, Huis
Doorn was appointed as a place for commemorating World War I, showing a
permanent exhibition.
