The Scheme
• PMETB – all GPs undergo a formal 3 year scheme
• 4 or 6 month posts in ST1, 6months in ST2 of which
6 months is GP
• The rotations
• LTFTs
• Sickness absence reporting (see ‘process for sick
leave flowchart’)
• Absence from training - maximum 2 weeks per year
or time must be made up

Format
• Modular academic programme in primary
care for trainees in Severn leading
towards MSC, PG diploma, or PG
Certificate.
• Based on the results of a survey of
trainees reporting that 96% would like an
additional academic award.

• Relevant to general practice and to
compulsory examinations.
