Academic Olympiad
• Written Exam: Thursday, November 15th
• Game show: (feat. Top 7 winners from Written Exam)
Friday, November 16 th
• Team Consists of (3) contestants and (1) alternate
• Technical areas to be covered: Engineering, Chemistry, General
Science (trivia), Physics, Statistics, etc…
• The winning teams will receive scholarship awards for each of the
team’s individual participating member as follows:
First Place ‐ $1,000 | Second Place ‐ $750 | Third Place ‐ $500
• Pre-exam will be administered to those interested.
Exam will be held after this presentation!
Those selected will receive a partial reimbursement!
Extreme Engineering Challenge
Non stop 24-hour competition that engages teams against each other to
find out who can out-design, out-develop, and out-promote the others in a
race against time, talent, and creativity.
• Requirements: Open to all undergraduate SHPE members
• When to register: Wednesday, Nov 14 th 3pm @ On-site Registration Area
• Prizes:
• Winning Team- $4000
• Extreme Engineer (One Winner)- $2000
• Top Engineer (4 winners)- $ 1000
Transportation
• Flying FROM: LaGuardia International Airport
Departure time: 12:05pm
Landing time: 3:10pm
We will be taking a bus at approximately 6am leaving from the Union Horseshoe.
The bus will take us to the airport.
CARRY ONS ARE FREE HOWEVER CHECKED BAGS COST $25 EACH WAY!

Lodging
• All housing confirmation information will be made available at a later
date once rooming list are completed. This is done by SHPE National.
**4 people to a double room. (two full size beds, same gender).
Room confirmations will be sent one week prior to the conference.**

• 3-4 business casual outfits
• 1 suit for the career expo
• Formal wear for banquet

• State ID/ Passport!!!!!
IMPORTANT
• You must sign the contract in order to attend. READ CAREFULLY AND
SIGN.
• We will be taking you to dinner one night and every must attend.
• Excused absences have been arranged. Be on the lookout for an email
from the dean’s office.
• At conference you will be required to attend a minimum of 3
workshops/events per day. An E-Board member will be assigned to you
to make sure you are doing what you need to do.
• Pay Chapter Dues ($5.00) to Irene!
• Continue to show support at SHPE Events throughout the month.
Get those points!!!
• Be sure that you are going to the conference!! There will be a PENALTY
for backing out last minute.
• Be sure to pay attention to your emails for any further actions required!
