REVOLUTIONIZING E-WASTE MANAGEMENT
1 WITH REWARDS:
OUR INNOVATIVE APP
2023-2024
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
Our e-waste management app offers a comprehensive solution for individuals looking to
responsibly dispose of their electronic waste. The core functionality of the app revolves
around the collection of e-waste from users. Users can easily schedule pickups or drop off
their electronic devices, such as old smartphones, laptops, and other gadgets, at designated
collection points. Once the e-waste is in our possession, our dedicated team takes charge
of the verification process. They ensure that the submitted electronic items meet the
necessary criteria for recycling or proper disposal. This verification step is essential to
maintain environmental standards and ensure the safe handling of electronic waste. In
appreciation of users' eco-conscious efforts, we reward them with digital coupons that can
be redeemed on popular online shopping platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, and various
other online retailers. These coupons serve as an incentive for users to actively participate
in our ewaste management program while simultaneously enjoying the benefits of online
shopping. What sets our app apart is our commitment to tracking and analyzing user
engagement. We maintain a comprehensive database of user activities, including the
frequency and volume of e-waste submissions. To add an element of friendly competition,
we assign each user a global rank based on their participation and contribution to our ewaste management community. This global rank not only encourages users to recycle more
but also fosters a sense of community and responsibility towards the environment. In
essence, our e-waste management app provides a convenient and rewarding way for
individuals to dispose of their electronic waste responsibly. It encourages sustainable
practices, offers valuable incentives, and promotes a sense of community engagement
through the global ranking system.

android-based waste management information system. The research paper discusses the
implementation of SISAPU, an Android-based waste management system, by the Dahlia
Garbage Bank in Margahurip Village, addressing environmental and economic challenges
associated with waste management. With a focus on Bandung Regency's waste issues, the
Android application aims to simplify waste collection, transactions, and awareness. The
study, utilizing descriptive methods and interviews with organizers, housewives, and youth
group members, reveals that SISAPU facilitates household waste management, providing
economic benefits for users. Socialization efforts involve interpersonal communication
during garbage collection, profit-sharing, and group sessions at village meetings, aiming to
increase knowledge, shape positive perceptions, and foster community participation in
Android-based waste management. The paper concludes that SISAPU effectively informs,
accelerates waste collection, and generates income, emphasizing the importance of building
positive perceptions and encouraging community engagement.

Android Application for E-Waste Management. The paper discusses a prototype software
solution using an Android application for E-Waste Management in the context of India's
"Swachh Bharat Abhiyan." The research focuses on E-waste's potential contribution to
national income through reuse and salvage. The Android application, developed using MIT
App Inventor, facilitates E-waste collection requests and services on university and college
campuses. The system involves mobile applications issued to departments, enabling them
to request E-waste collection, with a service provider responding to the requests. The
software also addresses the progression of E-waste reuse. The paper underscores the
electronic simplification of decision-making processes related to E-waste administration,
aligning with the goals of the Swachh Bharat Mission. It reviews relevant literature,
highlighting the need for new waste management rules and emphasizing waste
management's importance for smart city development. The study aims to contribute to the
efficient management of E-waste at the administrative level, providing a cost-effective MIT
Android E-Bin solution. The application is deemed flexible, simple to install, and a
potential substitute for expensive software solutions. The conclusion emphasizes the role
of information technology tools in the ground-level management of E-waste and introduces
a cost-effective prototype solution for consideration, acknowledging the need for
appropriate management and implementation strategies for effective functionality.
