What have you notice in one’s column of the table?
How many are there? Let us count. (13) Write 13 on
the table.
You can regroup the ones to gain another group of
10. You can regroup 13 ones as 1 tens and 3 ones.
So, there are 3 tens in all in the total. There are 3 ones
remaining after regrouping. This means that the sum of 18
and 15 is 3 tens and 3 ones or 33.
C. After the
Lesson:
• Application
Circle a group of 10. Write the new tens and ones. Then
write the number. The first ones is done for you.

4 tens 10 ones. Regrouping is 5 tens 0 ones or 50
2.
___ tens ____ ones.
Regrouping becomes: ___ tens ____ ones or ______
3.
___ tens ____ ones
Regrouping becomes: ___ tens ____ ones or _______
• Closure
Regroup to find the number then write it. The first one has
been done for you.
