7. Lesson proper
What can you observe about the different words
you have collected?
“Name of person”
“Name of places”
“Name of things”
“assorted occasions”
All of your thoughts were definitely correct!
The words that you pasted on board were a name
of person like Andrea, a name of places like
Bulakan, a name of things like Crayons and, name
of events like Christmas Day were all a noun.
Now, who can define what a noun is?
(children will raise their hands)
Ok, excellent!
Who among you here loves to watch the tv series
Batang Quiapo?
Do you know the real name of Tanggol?
Verry good!
“a noun is a word that indicated a name of a
person, places, things and events.”
“yes, ma’am. He is Coco Martin.
The name Coco Martin is now our noun because
it is a name of a person.
Nouns are words that represent people, places,
or things. Everything we can see or talk about is
represented by a word. That word is called a
"noun." You might find it useful to think of a noun
as a "naming word."
Often, nouns name things we can touch (e.g.,
"lion," "cake," "computer"), but sometimes they
name things we cannot touch (e.g., "bravery,"
"mile," "joy").
Examples of Nouns
Here are some examples of nouns. (Notice that
some have capital letters. We will discuss why
later.)
Person: soldier, Alan, cousin, lawyer
Place: house, London, factory, shelter
Thing. This includes:
Objects: table, London Bridge, chisel, nitrogen,
month, inch, cooking
Animals: aardvark, rat, shark, Mickey

different figures, raise your hand and determine
what kind of noun suits the image.
Ok ma’am.
“Francine Diaz”
“Paris”
Cup
Ok, thank you.
9. Generalization
You have a great performance and participation
in our discussion.
Who can tell me what you have learned from our

“ Noun refers to a name of person, places, things
