Activity: FREE TALK
The students will be asked the following questions:
1. What is importance of learning how to read and write?
2. Is there a connection between reading and writing? Expound your answer.
Activity: IT FEELS WRITE
For 15 minutes, the students will write a paragraph that has at least 8 sentences. Their paragraphs will be about the importance of reading and writing to them
as students. They will use their notebooks. They will have to:

Activity: UNJUMBLE THE PATTERNS OF WRITTEN TEXTS
The class will be divided into five groups. They will be given a sheet of paper that contains jumbled letters that the groups must unjumble to form the different
patterns of written texts. They will also be given clues that will help them come up with their answers.

Activity: INTERACTIVE DISCUSSION
The teacher will have an interactive discussion on the topic Pattens of Written Texts.

The students, by pair, will compare and contrast the different patterns of written texts by completing the chart below. They will write their answers on one sheet
of paper.
