Intense Secondary Baseball Game Marks 2024 Agnor Division Athletic Meet

On January 28-29, 2024, AgNor Division Athletic Meet
at Nasipit, Agusan del Norte brought a riveting
baseball game that had spectators and fans thrilled
from the beginning to the end with a series of
impressive plays and displayed skills showcasing of
young talent, highlighting the potential future stars of
the sport.
The game featured of four strongest teams in the
division go head-to-head in a battle of skill and
strategy specifically the delegation from Carmen,
Nasipit, Las Nieves and Buenavista. The first battle
with Nasipit and Carmen were a tight contest, with
both teams showcasing their defensive abilities where
Nasipit baseball team clinched a narrow victory over
Carmen, with a final score of 2-1. The game commenced with Carmen’s JB
Montelllio scoring in the first inning. However, the last bat saw Nasipit’s team
members, John Patrick Labis and Reygel Cortez, hitting home runs and securing two
scores, leading to a dramatic win for Team Nasipit. The stadium erupted into cheers
as the player rounded the bases, the spectators' excitement intense.
Separately, Team Las Nieves won against Team Carmen
secured 3-1 when they made a comeback in the next
game. Player Jayvee Manliguez home run in second
inning securing the team to score. Their batters found
their rhythm, hitting one ball after another and closing the
gap in the scoreline with Team Carmen. The climax of the
game came in the final inning. With the scores tied, the
Las Nieves player Jhon Wane Garzon and Leslie Sulit
stepped up to the plate and hit the winning run. The
crowd erupted in celebration, and Team Las Nieves won
this round advancing for the championship. Team Nasipit
and Carmen back in the field for the final match fighting
for the third rank. the first inning saw Carmen’s players
Ruzzel Quirante, Justine
Romano and James Blando hit home runs, securing
three points for their team. Meanwhile, Team Nasipit
players Belano and Madelo managed to score two
points. The tension was palpable in the second and
third innings as both teams failed to score. Despite
the efforts of Team Nasipit, the game concluded with
Team Carmen holding onto their lead. This hardfought match ended in a victory for Team Carmen,
demonstrating the team’s resilience and skill.
After two days of intense baseball single round-robin
bracketing at 2024 Division Athletic Meet, Team
Carmen finished as the third rank. The competition lingers with the final game
between Team Las Nieves and Team Buenavista for the championship round. These
two teams marked the high of the event and demonstrated exceptional skill and
determination to reach this stage of the competition for the next match. #
