2 Read the text and answer the questions.
Australia to England
My name is Byron Lewis, and I’m from Australia. I
was born in Sydney, and I grew up near the sea. I
moved to the UK three years ago. I got a new job as
a science teacher in a secondary school in London. I
came with my wife Linda and my children, Jamie
and Anna. Jamie is twelve and he’s a student at my
school now, but Anna is only five so she goes to a
different school.
We live in a flat in the south of the city at 24 Park
Street, just near where my dad was born. My mother
isn’t English. She comes from Athens in Greece. My
dad met her in Sydney when he moved there from
London. He came to Australia because he was an
engineer and he got a job in Sydney. They got
married and they stayed in Sydney.
I really liked England when I first arrived. We
arrived in August and the weather was great. It was
warm and sunny and the people were very friendly.
We moved into a nice flat and we quickly made
friends.

London is a very exciting city and there’s a lot to do.
I love it but I still miss Sydney and the Australian
beaches. And of course I miss my friends and
family. Last summer, we went back to Sydney for a
holiday. We spent four weeks there and we stayed
with my mum and dad. We saw all our friends and
the children had a fantastic time.
