The bungalow is set amidst hilly surroundings and on the sloping ground with a fascinating view of the valley from the living room of the bungalow. Lonavala provides a panoramic view of the lush green surroundings of the Sahyadri ranges. On the East Side two towers of the Rajmachi Fort can be seen and next to the backyard there is a huge valley. Ryewood Park: This garden which is big & beautiful is located near Lonavala. There is also an old Mahadeo temple in this park. There is history behind the name Ryewood. An English officer Mr. Rye stayed in this place for quite some time, hence these woods are named after him. Duke's Nose: This place is named after Duke Wellington whose pointed nose this cliff resembles. It also looks like a hood of a snake called as "Nagfani". This point can be approached from INS Shivaji and Kurwande Village. Kune Falls: This water falls from a height of more than 100 feet and it looks majestic in appearance, one can even bathe in the water that flows through the valley. This place is between Lonavala and Khandala. This fall can be seen during monsoon at Khandala Ghat while coming from Mumbai. Tiger's Leap This is a must visit spot in this area. If one looks at the valley carefully from this spot it appears as if a tiger is leaping into the valley. This spot is a furlong away from INS Shivaji. It gives a fascinating view of the valley. Kaivalya Dham Yoga Center: This institute imparting yoga education was founded by the Late Swami Kuvalayanand. This place is situated on a picturesque hill near Valvan Lake. Karla Caves: Karla is about 12 km from Lonavala, this site of the largest Chaitya caves in India, built in 80 B.C. Among the best-preserved Buddhist temples in India, they represent the acme, in terms of purity of design of this style of temple architecture. Weather in Khandala/Lonavala: Weather in Khandala is pleasant. Summers are mild i.e., 20 °C-25 °C, while winters are cool i.e., 10 °C- 22 °C. Lonavala is a main junction on the Mumbai-Pune railway line. Road: Lonavala & Khandala are well connected with Mumbai and Pune by road. It approximately takes a travel time of about 1½ hours to reach Pune however, it takes about 2 hours to reach Mumbai from Khandala.
