DATES
(CONFIRM DATES WITH YOUR TEAM LEADERS)
◼Grade entry: December 9-18
▪ Enter grades on Joongbu website
▪ You must complete this by 5 p.m. on December 20. The system
may close at that time, preventing you from entering any grades.
◼December 23-27
▪ Complaint week
▪ If necessary, change any grades.
▪ Print out the grades from the website by December 27. You may
not be able to access this information after this date.
◼December 27
▪ End of Semester Meeting, time 10am
STUDENT FINAL GRADES
◼ The curve allows up to 30% of students to receive an “A”, 40% a “B”, and 30% a
“C” or lower. You are not required to give the maximum allotted number of “A’s”
or “B’s”. However, if you are giving students more “C’s” than required, or are
failing a large number of students, you may need to readjust your standards and
expectations.
◼ Foreign students may not be included when determining the allotted number of
grades.
◼ Classes with fewer than 10 students are subject to a different curve, 50% “A” and
50% “B”.
◼ 제이수
▪ Students labeled as such on the Joongbu website are retaking their English class. The
highest grade they can receive is a “B+”.
◼ Assessment Values
▪ Attendance 20%, Homework 10%, Participation 10%, Midterm Exam 30%, Final Exam
30%
ATTENDANCE SCORES
◼ After final exams, you may not be able to access class attendance
information via the app. You can access this info from the following
website: http://attend.joongbu.ac.kr/jbu/online
◼ 4 absences = automatic “F”
▪ If students fail due to attendance, you should enter a “0” for all assessment
criteria on the Joongbu website, even if they did some of the work.
◼ 3 late = 1 absence
◼ For each unexcused absence, five points should be subtracted from their
attendance score
▪ 1 absence = 15/20
▪ 2 absences = 10/20
▪ 3 absences = 5/20
ATTENDANCE SCORES (4TH YEAR STUDENTS)
◼ The university will send out an email with a list of 4th year students who
have jobs. These students should receive a perfect 20/20 on their
attendance score. They are not exempt from doing the required
coursework.
◼ You should contact these students directly. They may not be aware that
they are required to complete the exams, homework, etc. By contacting
these students in advance you can avoid situations in which a student is in
danger of not graduating because he/she was not aware of the class
requirements. You can find the students’ phone numbers on the
attendance sheet.
