to earthquakes eg Natural-NZ and plate boundary, Cultural-building standards, cities
proximity to faults etc
Natural processes that operate to produce the extreme natural event Cover the natural
tectonic proceeses that operate benath and above the earth in general. Then a focus on the
2 case studies. Key terms-processes, plates, subduction, epicentre, focus, P,S,L waves etc
Effects of the extreme natural event on the natural environment Go over the general effects
that could be caused then focus on Case studies. Christchurch-Liquefaction, fissures,
rockfalls. Napier-Land uplift
Effects of the extreme natural event on the cultural environment Death and injury. ChCh
185, Napier 256. Loss of jobs, fear, movement of people, damage to buildings
How different groups of people have responded to the effects of the event. Videos on ChCh
