Sean
o Identifying Information: heterosexual cisgender male, Caucasian, late
30’s. Owns and operates a private detective agency and is often
contracted by the Police Department. Has a close life-long best friend,
Gus (sometimes d-buttercups) who assists in the running and
management of the business
o Concerns: “problematic” relationship with father – wants to work on
himself and become a better partner for his girlfriend Jules (she works
for the police department). He finds that he struggles to focus, is often
distracted, impulsive, and often finds himself in tricky situations that
are a direct result of his impulsive behavior.
o Background:
o Parents were divorced when he was an adolescent; he was estranged
from his father (who was a very successful detective in the police
Department), however often recalls amusing anecdotes from his
childhood (which often include Gus) that involve his father teaching
him survival, observation, and other pertinent skills to detective work.
He describes his relationship with his mother as “close” but rarely sees
her. He spends more time with his father despite describing their
relationship as “complicated”
 My parents got divorced during my middle school, I asked
them why they had to divorce many times but they just never
told me. After the divorcement, I stayed with my mother until I
finished middle school. Than I moved to NYC to stay with my
dad. He was a famous detective in the 99-precinct. But after the
divorcement, he became so paranoid, always questioned me,
asking where I went, thought my friends were suspicious, and
always accusing me for drinking his alcohol. I wasn’t even 21!
So I moved out after college with my girl friend.
 When I was a kid, my father always took me to some forest, or
mountains for camping, and taught me survival skills. And he
always talked about his detective stories, the skills and tricks he
used, and how he got so famous. Usually I will call my friend,
Gus, to come with us. I really liked my father’s story and
enjoyed camping, but he always yelled at me when he taught
me survival skills, kept telling me what I did wrong, and
always got angry at me if I was doing things slow. I really
didn’t like to stay with him along, so I always ask Gus to come
with us.
 I’m running a private detective agency with Gus. The office is
in NYC, so my father heard about it and helped my a lot at the
beginning of my career. But than he started to screening my
clients without my acknowledge and turned down on them.
o Personality: Fun-loving, Charismatic, impulsive, “spunky”,
mischievous. Can present as narcissistic but is surprisingly caring
about those he has a close relationship with
o Interesting Factoids: often pretends to be psychic using his strong
powers of observation. Enjoys bringing pineapples as gifts (I hate
pineapples, why would anyone like this), and loves to play pranks on
his girlfriends’ detective partner.

Jane
o Identifying Information: White, early 20’s cisgender heterosexual
female. Lives in New England. Works as a nanny.
o Concerns: Recently fell in love with her employer (she works as a
Nanny to his ward – not his biological child), who proposed. Near the
wedding day, it was revealed that he was already married. They now
have no contact and Jane has left her Nannying position. Jane is
attempting to “get over him” however is struggling with passionate
feelings for him. She is currently staying with her distantly related
paternal cousins (John, Diana, and Mary). John has recently proposed
marriage to Jane – he is a missionary and believes that he and Jane
“work well together”. Jane is feeling overwhelmed and struggling to
know what to do
o Background: parents died while Jane was still a baby; raised by her
maternal uncles’ wife (the uncle died when Jane was quite young)
along side their three children. During her early childhood, Jane’s
young male cousin frequently beat her; Jane was sent at a young age to
a strict boarding school after “lying”. She remained at the boarding
school until she graduated – she was never visited by her aunt. Jane
identified as catholic and described her faith as an important part of
herself/life. After graduating the boarding school Jane took on a
position as a teacher at the school and then transitioned to Nannying as
an opportunity to see more of the world
o Personality: quiet and reserved but passionate when incensed.
Organized, methodical, very boundaried.
o Interesting Factoids: speaks more than three languages, is highly
artistic (enjoys drawing), considers herself unattractive, and
unbeknownst to her, she recently inherited a large sum of money.
