Capture the Essence: Digital Photography Competition
Theme: “Empowering Educators: Strengthening Resilience, Building Sustainability”
In line with celebration of World Teacher’s Day, this competition aims to share stories of our dedicated
educators whose passion, wisdom, and guidance have shaped generations through captured images.
GENERAL GUIDELINES:
1. All bonafide student of Batangas State University - The National Engineering University Alangilan are
welcome to join the competition.
2. Each college in the Alangilan campus namely: COE, CAFAD, CICS and CIT together with its extension
campuses from Lobo, Balayan, and Mabini may send entry for this competition. Only one entry per student
shall be accepted, nonetheless, each college and campus may send entries as many as they can.
3. Entries will be displayed in the venue during the celebration of World Teacher’s Day on October 5, at the
Fitness Development Center.
4. The theme of the contest is “Empowering Educators: Strengthening Resilience, Building Sustainability”.
TECHNICAL GUIDELINES:
1. All entries must be submitted via email to ssc.wtd2023@gmail.com with public access on or before October
02, 2023, 11:59 PM with the following format:
• Subject: Capture the Essence Entry
• Filename: Surname, FirstName - COLLEGE/DEPARTMENT
2. The submitted photographs must adhere to the following technical guidelines:
1. A4 Size, either portrait or landscape
2. 300 dpi
3. PNG or JPEG file format
3. Photo manipulation, including but not limited to excessive retouching, adding, or removing elements, or
altering the content of the image in any way, is strictly prohibited.
4. The submitted photos must not include any watermark or identifying mark of the participant.
5. Photos depicting any person or situation must be permitted by the subject and should not contain any depiction
that may violate any person or entity’s rights.
6. Official entries will be accompanied by a title and brief description not exceeding 100 words. The title and
description may be written in either English or Filipino.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS:
1. Participants grant us the right to use their submitted entries for promotional purposes.
2. All entries must adhere to copyright and intellectual property rights.
JUDGING AND PRIZES:
1. The judging period will be on October 3- 4, 2023. Winners will be announced on October 5, 2023 during the
event proper.
2. All entries are judged by the criteria given as:
CREATIVITY & ORIGINALITY
Shows a unique and original plot pacing and character portrayal.
CONTENT & RELEVANCE TO THE THEME
The entry should be clear, situations are relatable and aligned to the theme.
TECHNICALITIES
The image lighting is clear, sharpness and clarity are also seen, good composition and the image
is in-format.
OVERALL IMPACT
The image was able to grab and hold the viewers’ attention.

4. The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.
