Reflexes
Is when the brain is not involved in the reaction.
Reflex arc
1. Excitatory interneuron contracts flexor muscle.
2. Inhibitory interneurons contacts the extensor muscle.
Reflexes are automatic, unconscious to changes, either inside of outside the body.
Reflexes whose arc passes through the spinal cord are called spinal reflexes.
Reflex arc govern the operation of reflexes.
Parts of Reflex Arc:
Muscles spindle detects stretch. Is the sensory spindle when the tendon is hit and
created the pull.
Monosynaptic example Knee-jerk reflex
Postsynaptic “reverse myotic reflex”
Golgi tendon apperatus tells the brain the body position.
