Condenser Water System:
Very high TSS and conductivity levels noted due to difficulty for the site to drain the water and have a consistent source of makeup water quality. High alkalinity, hardness and chloride levels
The dosing system was programmed and set for pulse mode to dose the corrosion inhibitor and daily dose of sodium hypo. High COC noted.
Recommendations:
Recommend to maintain the system with the blowdown setpoint (1200) to avoid white rusting taking place on the coils. Recommend to have a good constant source of makeup water. Recommend
Alternate Office and Residential Cooling Towers more often to minimize stagnation times as it increases the potential of bacterial growth and initiates corrosion. Recommend to clean the CT.
Chilled Water System:
Currently system has nitrite as corrosion inhibitor. CoolTech has supplied NSF grade Silica based corrosion inhibitor.
Recommendations:
Recommend to drain the whole CHW network of exsiting water and top it up with MS 7501.
