myGEO 100 Class Rules Agreement
I have read the syllabus and understand the expectations of this course, including but not limited
to those listed below.
I understand that late journals will not be accepted – the online links for submission expire at the
deadline time. Late homework exercises will only be accepted for the first 3 days after the
deadline, and any late homework receives a penalty. I understand that there are no make-ups for
missed class participation exercises. Because of this, poor attendance and/or failure to submit
work will have a significant effect on my grade and may result in a grade of F.
If any piece of work I submit is substantially the same as an original source (e.g. a news item used
in journal entry), or the work of another student (e.g. written answers in class) I will receive a
grade of zero for that piece of work. All work submitted MUST be my own.
If I fail to attend a field trip and submit a field trip exercise, and am otherwise passing the class, I
will receive a grade of incomplete (INC) until the field trip is completed. Other than these
circumstances, the grade of INC will only be given if there is documented reason for missing the
work, and a written agreement between the student and the instructor of the work to be
completed and a timeframe for completion.
I understand that the following rules apply to all exams and if I fail to follow them I will receive a
grade of zero on the exam:
If I am unable to attend the exam due to illness or emergency, I must inform professor
Amaach before the exam begins and make arrangements for a time to take the makeup
exam. I MUST bring documentation for the illness or emergency to the makeup exam
After the exam has started, I must not leave the room for any reason until I have finished.
Students with specific medical needs should speak to professor Amaach BEFORE the day of
the exam.
I may not have any notes, papers or books (including dictionaries) at my desk during the
exam.
I may not have a cell phone or any other electronic device at my desk during the exam.
