: UGE 2
: Technical Writing in the Discipline
: This course aims to study and practice writing in professional
settings. This class focuses on documents necessary to make decisions
and take action on the job such as letters and memorandum, reports,
proposals, e-mail, and other documents. The course includes
significant teamwork.

UGE 2 – Technical Writing in the Discipline

In this task, you are required demonstrate
knowledge of the basic concepts on technical
communication and technical writing.
In this assessment schedule, three major
topics are covered: (1) overview of technical
communication, including definition and
characteristics; (2) the technical writing
process; and (3) analyzing audience.
Students are expected to familiarize
themselves with the differences of technical
writing among other fields of writing such as
persuasive
writing,
creative
writing,
expository writing.

UGE 2 – Technical Writing in the Discipline

In this task, you are required demonstrate
teamwork on a group project/exam which is
writing proposals.
In this assessment schedule, students will
create and submit a proposal. The proposal
can be of any topic as long as it simulates a
workplace context.
The output will be checked according to
components such as organization, content,
appearance, and language usage. Detailed
performance checklist for this examination
will be given by the instructor.
A rubric for grading will be given by your
instructor to help you craft your proposal.
In this task, you are required demonstrate
knowledge on how to create various
discipline-based workplace documents.
You are going to write a total of two (2) types
of workplace documents.
The output will be checked according to
components such as organization, content,
appearance, and language usage. Detailed
performance checklist for this examination
will be given by the instructor.
Detailed instructions on the type of workplace
documents to submit will be given by your
instructor as it will be based on the program
study to which the course will be offered.

13. Policies and guidelines
a. Attendance is counted from the first regular class meeting to monitor the number of absences
not to exceed 20% of the total contact hours as provided in the student handbook
b. A validated student identification card must always be worn by all students while attending the
classes.
c. Cheating is strictly prohibited as provided in Student Handbook. Any form of dishonesty shall be
dealt with accordingly. Honesty is called for at all times.
d. Valid examination permits are necessary in taking the examinations as scheduled.
e. CELLULAR PHONES or any ELECTRONIC GADGETS are not allowed during examinations.
f. Once examination has started, NOBODY is allowed to take his/her personal necessities.
g. Base-15 grading system policy should be observed. Students who obtained failing scores in
major subjects are given appropriate/necessary interventions as cited in the monitoring form.
Tutorial classes will be offered upon the approval from the administration.
h. One textbook-one student policy
i. Proper decorum must be observed at all times during class hour.
j. Everyone is responsible in picking up the litters and arranging THE CHAIRS before and after class
hour.
k. Absence during scheduled presentation is equivalent to zero (0) pt.
l. Points will be deducted for late submission of requirements.
m. Check your LMS (Quipper) regularly.
