Corazon C. Aquino or Maria Corazon Aquino was Philippine pol who served to
be the country's first female president from 1986 to 1992, restoring democracy after
Ferdinand Marcos' long tyranny. She was the country's first female president. The
election of Cory to the presidency opened a new era for Filipinos. The Philippines
underwent drastic adjustments and reforms during her first few months in power.
As president, Aquino ordered the creation of the 1987 Constitution, which
restricted the presidency's powers and re-established the bicameral Congress,
effectively ending the country's former dictatorial political structure. As for science and
technology she established the Presidential Task Force for Science and Technology,
which produced the primary Science and Technology program. STMP aimed for the
Philippines to be classified as a newly industrialized country by the year 2000. President
Corazon Aquino urged scientists and inventors to revive the Philippines' former position
as second only to Japan in science and technology. She encouraged the private
research sector to make a deeper link with public research so as to assist jump-start
growth within the Philippine R&D sector or Research and Development sector. The new
Corazon Aquino administration placed a high value on civil liberties and human rights,
further as peace talks with communist insurgents and Muslim secessionists. Cory was
also concerned with restoring economic health and confidence. The Aquino
administration was successful in repaying $4 billion in outstanding debts. President
Aquino flatly refused to last re-election in 1992. Cory was also this female heads of
state and government that works to mobilize women world politicians to require action
on issues critical to women's leadership, empowerment, and advancement. The gains of
good governance are being converted into an improvement in the quality of life of all
Filipinos, particularly the poor and disadvantaged, under the Aquino government. The
Aquino administration's inclusive growth agenda has always prioritized investing in the
Filipino people, which is why public care continue to receive the largest share of the
national budget, the school system has indeed been remodeled to foster internationally
competitive lifelong learners, and the administration is zealously pursuing the objective
of universal health care. The government's message is simple: no one should be left
behind on the path to progress.
In contrast to previous presidency, she wanted to indicate citizens and politicians that
the presidency isn't a lifetime position. She remained active within the glare, however,
frequently expressing her views and opinions on pressing political issues.
Cory contributed significantly to the freedom and well-being of many people. She
accomplished an excellent deal in her life and was popular with many folks. In March
1986 Aquino proclaimed a provisional constitution and shortly appointed a commission
to write down a brand new constitution which restored the bicameral congress abolished
by Marcos in 1973, was ratified by a landslide popular take February 1987. Aquino held
