1. Crisostomo Ibarra - Noynoy Aquino
Both their fathers died in injustices. Also their love story does not have a
happy ending: Ibarra to Maria Clara and Noynoy to Shalani Soledad
2. Maria Clara - Shalani Soledad
They both have issues or complicated relationships with their fathers. And
both have tragic love relationships.
3. Donya Victorina - Vicki Belo
Donya Victorina is Filipina who mimics Spanish ladies by putting on heavy
white makeup. One could say that she wants a major makeover. Vicki Belo is
certainly the county’s makeover queen. They also both have partners younger
than them.
4. Donya Consolacion - Annabelle Rama
They have a strong personality. Donya Consolacion whipped Sisa.
Annabelle Rama dragged Kris Aquino out in one event.
5. Padre Salvi - Mikey Arroyo
They are both good as “sideline.”
6. Padre Damaso - Carlos Celdran
Padre Damaso promotes the Church’s doctrines, even as he continues to
be cruel to the people around him. Carlos Celdran was arrested by lay Catholics
under a blasphemy law against “offending religious feelings”
7. Elias - Gloc - 9
They are fugitives fighting against the authorities. Elias in a brutal way or
revolution. Gloc - 9 in his lyrics and songs.
8. Don Tiburcio - Hayden Kho
Don Tiburcio is a quack while Hayden Kho his medical license has been
revoked. Their partners are both older than them.
9. Pilosopo Tasyo - Erap Estrada
Pilosopo Tasyo is an old man who writes about his hopes and dreams for
the country using a "cryptographic alphabet." In other words, nobody
understands what he wants to happen. Like the character, Erap Estrada fell from
grace and, really, nobody takes him seriously these days. He was charged with
plunder and perjury. Perjury the offense of willfully telling an untruth in a court
after having taken an oath or affirmation.
10. Sisa - Kris Aquino
They are mothers that have both 2 sons. They dealt with not-good-for-her
men and have done things most people would consider insane.
