Example - Nim doesn’t want the Troppo Tourists boat to come to the island because they
would fill the island with tourists and noise. Jack and Nim also dislike Troppo Tourists
because of their role in Nim’s mother’s death. To keep them away, Nim asks her animal
friends to help – for example, the sea lions rock the boat and lead it away from the island.
Nim also gathers some smelly things like a dead shark and seaweed and places them on the
hissing stones, causing a strong stench which scares off the boat for good.
