My Name, My Destiny
Greetings! My name is Ma. Isabel E. Sumoda, and honestly, there
is no grand story behind it. My parents picked "Maria" because it
sounded feminine and graceful, with a hint of Filipina charm. As for
my second name, "Isabel," it was given to me in honor of the church
where I received my baptism - Sta. Isabel Church, the same parish
where my mother would frequent on Sundays. My parents decided
to name me "Ma. Isabel" in the hopes that it would inspire me to
live a life full of kindness and compassion. They wanted me to be
someone who always lends a helping hand to those in need while
also having a strong and unwavering faith in everything that I do. I
am grateful for their aspirations for me and constantly strive to live
up to the name they have given me. I always feel blessed to have
been given this name by my parents.
