Adjetivos demostrativos
Indican la ubicación o posicionamiento (más cercano o lejano) del sujeto con respecto a un
sustantivo específico.

“THE”
Usá el artículo “the” (el, la, los, las) cuando se quiere especificar un sustantivo o un grupo de
sustantivos en particular.
“The man with read hair is my father”
Cuando se habla del sentido general de un sustantivo o de nombres abstractos, no se utiliza el
artículo.
“Symptoms are very clear”

Tampoco se usa el artículo en inglés cuando se habla de una persona con un título en
particular.
“President Frenández is in Italy.”
“Dr. Ortiz will help you.”
“Mr. Vargas has just arrived.”

“A/AN”
En inglés, como en español, el artículo “a, an” se refiere a una cosa no especificada.
• “a” + consonante:
“There’s a book on the table.”
• “an” + vocal o sonido vocálico:
“That’s an interesting idea.”
“I have to wait an hour.”

En inglés, se utiliza el artículo indefnidio (a/an) por delante de las profesiones..
“He is a doctor.”
“I want to be a nurse.”
“Is he a student?”
El artículo “one” indica que hay solamente una cosa.
“He has one brother.”
