Chapter one
1.1: Introduction
In this project we will explain how to make WAN connectivity using Switch.
A wide area network (WAN) is a geographically distributed private
telecommunications Network that interconnects multiple local area networks
(LANS).
A LAN is a group of computers and network devices which are all connected to each
other, typically from within a short relative geographical distance. In an enterprise
or business, a WAN may consist of connections to a company's headquarters, branch
offices, colocation facilities, cloud services and other facilities.
Typically, a router or other multifunction device is used to connect a LAN to a
WAN. Enterprise WANs allow users to share access to applications, services and
other centrally located resources.
Businesses, as well as schools and government entities, use wide area networks to
relay data to staff, students, clients, buyers and suppliers from various locations
around the world. In essence, this mode of telecommunication allows a business to
effectively carry out its daily function regardless of location.
Switch: is a network device that is used to segment the networks into different
subnetworks called subnets or LAN segments. It is responsible for filtering and
forwarding the packets between LAN segments based on MAC address.

1.2: Statement of the problem
The problem is to make internet connection to specific ports in switch share files
and folders as link and then make Online Remote Management PC from another
Smart phone and vice-verse. So, the problem here is:
• First there is connection between computers.
• There is no internet connection
• Without connection and internet access nothing goes on.
1.3: objectives and purpose
Main objective:
❖ link all computers together and Share Wi-Fi internet Over Ethernet.
Specific objective:
❖ To Share folders and file in Mega as a link.
❖ To give internet access to specific ports.
❖ To make online Remote Management PC from another Smart phone.
❖ To make online Remote Management Smartphone from PC

Mega cloud storage
MEGA is a cloud storage and file hosting
service offered by MEGA Limited ,The
service is offered through web-based
apps. MEGA mobile apps are also
available for Android and iOS
Chrome Remote Desktop is a remote
desktop software tool, developed by
Google, that allows a user to remotely
control another computer's desktop
through a proprietary protocol also
developed by Google.

Team-viewer
TeamViewer is a remote access and
remote-control
computer
software,
allowing maintenance of computers and
other devices. It was first released in 2005,
and its functionality has expanded step by
step. TeamViewer is proprietary software,
but does not require registration and is
free of charge for non-commercial use.
2.2: project design/ topology
This project is for WAN connectivity using switch, which means you need a central
device like switch to share information between end devices.
The best topology using in WAN network is a star topology, is the one in which each
peripheral node is connected to a central hub or switch.
A concentrator router is being used to ensure that data is properly sent to the
destination. This topology allows easier integration of new network components to
the network, which can be an important consideration for business WANs as it
entails less work and cost.
But in project we are using switch as central device.
The central switch functions as the server for the peripheral nodes or clients. All the
network traffic passes through the central switch and this is the only requirement for
the topology to be classified as a star topology; the network doesn’t have to resemble
a star in the physical arrangement.

2.3: Configurations
1: connect each computer or pc to the switch with ethernet cable.
2: plug the internet sharing computer the 12th port.
3: plug the remaining ports to other pcs.
How to share your wi-fi internet Over Ethernet on Windows 10:
1: right click on your wi-fi icon.
2: select open network & internet settings.
3: select change adapter settings.
4: then select wi-fi and right click on it.
5: select sharing and double tick the allow options.
5
When you share the internet to the switch use a console cable to manage the ports
by giving access to specific ports. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Create V-Lan
❖ V-Lan 10
❖ Name Group B
Step 2: Assigning interfaces to the V-Lan
❖ Interface range fa0/12, fa0/15, fa0/20
❖ Switchport mode access
❖ Switchport access V-Lan 10
Step 3: Ip address assigning
❖ Interface V-Lan 10
❖ Ip address DHCP
So, the computers will get Ip addresses automatically as they are connected to
modem router.

Chapter three
3.1: Testing project steps
Step 1: Setting Up the WAN
• Prepare the computers.
• Prepare the device that you want to use as WAN ex: switch.
• Prepare all other necessary things like cables.
• Connect your ethernet cable to the specified ports in the switch.
• Make sure that all software’s are installed in your computers as well in your
smartphone.
Step 2: Installing software’s
TeamViewer is a popular remote tool that allows you access your Android or
transfer files between your computer and any Android device.
You can also manage your computer remotely with your Android phone. With 256bit AES security and 1024-bit RSA key exchange, you can rest assured that your
transfers are safe.
You can use TeamViewer to access computers behind a firewall as well, especially
useful for remote work.
7
How to install Team viewer in pc:
Step 1: First, open your favorite Web browser Chrome, Firefox, or any other web
browser.
Step 2: search Team viewer and download it.
Step 3: installation ……. Click net until you finish.
When you finish the installation process you will see this window
8
Step 4: managing remotely phone:
So, when you want remote control your smartphone you have to enter the given id
of your mobile to remote control it.
This is the main window that appears when you connect to your device.
There are different tabs you can navigate between them like the dashboard, remote
control, screenshot, apps and file transferring.
9
How to transfer file between PC and Smartphone using Team viewer:
Step 1: select file transfer tab in the top left.
Step 2: select the file you want to transfer from phone or computer
Step 3: Copy it and place the destination you want.
Note: you can transfer files from both your phone and computer.
10
How to install chrome remote desktop in pc:
Step 1: First, open your favorite Web browser Chrome, Firefox, or any other web
browser.
step 2: search chrome remote desktop and download it.
Step 3: select add chrome remote desktop to my chrome to simplify the task.
Once you complete the downloading process this window will pop-up.
How to install mega cloud in pc:
Step 1: First, open your favorite Web browser Chrome, Firefox, or any other web
browser.
step 2: search Mega and download it.
11
When you finish the installation you will need to sing in to your g mail account.
You can access you mega cloud in two ways:
1: by accessing the web as mega.nz
2: by accessing the desktop app
Choose one option and then start the task.
Step 1: create a folder
Step 2: upload files to that folder
Step 3: right click to the folder
Step 4: select get the link
12
Once you copy that link you will share it to.
N.B: Mega cloud storage is two types a free one and purchasing one.
Most of features will work in free but some features may not.
13
You will share that link the other person can get the data in this folder.
14
There are two options a person can access a mega file or folder.
1: open in browser as mega.nz
2: open in mega app
When you open it then you can save the files in your device.
Download it to save the file in your device

Chapter Four:
1.1: Achievements:
✓ The first thing we have learned is how to search. Internet is full of knowledge
but getting that knowledge need skills.
✓ Importance of team work.
✓ How to implement WAN network sharing a wi-fi ethernet cable.
✓ Gaining new knowledge.
✓ Practicing different software’s.
1.2: Limitations:
✓
The hardest thing was to find the appropriate software to your project.
✓
Understanding how these software’s actually work.
✓
Understanding way of Sharing internet.
1.3: Concluding remarks
It’s our pleasure to announce that it is the end of our project.
We have learned how to make WAN connectivity.
How to share an internet wi-fi over ethernet cable.
Used different software’s and make many practices and that is what our plan was.

1.2: Research instrument
The base of our research was Google search engine as it’s the most popular place
to do in research.
We get many articles about our project form there and this helped us very well.
The second instrument we used is YouTube as we go on there to explain some
difficult topics we faced in our project.
The past practice of our senior colleagues also played a vital role to understand
how to search, connect, build, and make a well written and designed project.
