CHAPTER I. PROJECT SUMMARY
INTRODUCTION
All over the world, people begin their lives in different ways. Commonly, the start it with
a good cup of coffee, especially when served hot. If you would explore on a busiest streets early
in the morning, you would witness a lot of people holding their own cup of instant coffees on the
go. This is not completely surprising as the record from Statista released last May 2021, 3.3
million which equivalents to sixty (60) kg bags is the total amount of coffee consumed in the
Philippines in accordance to the survey result on 2020. Consequently, this serves as a clear
representation that there has been an evident long-term increase when it comes to coffee
consumption over the years. It was also given light that the country ranked 6th in 2019 across the
Asia-Pacific Region when it comes to exportation of green coffee. However, along the uprising
trend and value of coffee in the Philippines, it is reported that even though the exports and
production of coffee are low in the Philippines, the market is still vibrant due to the demand for
instant coffee each day. Globally, the market size for instant coffee, as of 2016, was valued at 28
billion U.S. dollars. Remarkably, the Philippines has been one of the leading consumption
markets for soluble coffee, also known as instant coffee, since 2011. This statistical report is
doubtlessly a legitimate evidence on why there are an enormous amount of flourishing café or
coffee shops in the Philippines.
Basically, a cafe is a sort of restaurant that specializes on coffee and food. Coffee Shop is
a place where you purchase a cup of coffee, relax, interact with other customers, or have a
conversation with your friends. The word cafe comes from the French word ‘café’, which means
coffee. It is a gathering place for people to socialize, and it resembles bars and restaurants in
many ways. Coffee, on the other hand, brings people together and always has, especially when
it's made extra special. Many people nowadays prefer to have snacks and beverages prepared for
them by others may it be due to (1) lack of time to do it themselves, (2) looking for a special
taste, (3) lack of energy to perfrom things and many more. Coffee is something that everyone
knows and enjoys, and some people can't even live without it. Moreover, a cafe, according to
perceptions of many, exists to make people happy. As a result, the team discovered that cafes are
a common pleasure among Filipinos, so it has been decided to launch a business, specifically,
Kopiko Teatro.
Kopiko Teatro cafe is a huge passion endeavour for the team. People are simple creatures
that enjoy coffee, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try something new. Although, owning a
business can be intimidating at times, especially if you are a first-time owner, the team highly
believes that there are numerous advantages upon establishing one. One among this is that, it
gives a deeper sense of fulfillment, thus happiness to own one. We all understand that starting a
business is a marathon, not a sprint. Relatively, the most crucial aspect of starting a business is
having a business idea and developing ways in order to execute it efficiently – which is
something that must be provided in the initial stage. When launching a business, it is not enough
to just have an idea; you must plan meticulously. Business is made mainly to provide
value to customers and get paid. As any business owners will tell you, starting and running a
business is a lot of work but nonetheless worthy.
To introduce, the name of our business is Kopiko Teatro, which is purposely tailored to
our theatre-themed cafe. Entertainment is indeed an essential part of our lifestyle to maintain
balance and to keep sane. And so, as well as foods which are a staple necessity of every human
being. In Kopiko Teatro, it is our paramount to establish a warm, welcoming, entertaining, and
outgoing environment where our dear customers could have their safe place while enjoying their
drinks and meals and as well as having a great time with their friends.
The ambiance in our cafe will make you feel like you're in a theatre with its interior
design and furniture, which includes a combination of red and black walls and yellow bulbs
strategically placed on your surroundings, making it a little bit dark but undeniably appealing to
the eyes. Not only that, but we also commit ourselves to having a deeper sense of compassion to
our customers through providing them a space for a stage where they could feel heard, valued,
and appreciated. Furthermore, everyone is welcome to perform live at Kopiko Teatro. As we all
know, the stage in a theatre serves as a space for live performers interested in music, literature,
dancing, arts, and design. That being said, we also want to give our valued customers a chance to
be themselves by showcasing their talents and creativity, in addition to the aforementioned
aspects. Essentially, it has always been our goal for all of our products and services to be grown
under the highest standard of quality, using ethical sources and practices. As we believe in the
pursuit of doing good, our purpose extends far beyond profit.
Kopiko Teatro is bound to be located at Vergara Highway, Cabanatuan City in front of
Cabanatuan City Senior High School. Our team highly believes that this is a perfect site as the
area is still in progress of development, which means there are yet wide empty spaces for sale or
rent. Given that it is also one of the busiest roads in Cabanatuan City, it is close to the majority of
government offices. Essentially, it is close to at least four (4) schools, which is advantageous in
terms of attracting potential customers. Moreover, we are acutely aware of how oversaturated
our city is in terms of coffee shop establishments, milk tea shops, and the like. However, we
would like to go beyond just providing coffee and meals.
Inside Kopiko Teatro, we have a counter for a variety of coffees, desserts, and pica-picas
perfect for a theatre experience. We ensure that we offer fine coffee – grown, prepared, and
served by the finest people at an affordable price without compromising its quality. Aside from
food products, we also have a mini merchandise shop inside our cafe which is manufactured with
the idea of incorporating top movies on different clothing products, such as graphic t-shirts,
jackets, caps, mugs, socks, keychains, notebooks, and so on. Kopiko Teatro is much more than a
coffee shop. We nurture the camaraderie and skills of our charming dear clients at Kopiko
Teatro. By making theatre a center theme of our cafe, we anticipate people to consider it as a
remarkable place, which they could go to over and over again. As a result, we have a wide range
of food goods from which our valued customers can select based on their immediate needs. We
also provide stuff that movie fans can enjoy and give as a gift to friends and family

coffee and pastries mixed whilst ensuring a creation of spirit within our company that inspires
our team members to provide our customers with a total quality experience: quality of product,
service, and environment. We are also dedicated on giving you a remarkable experience inside
our theater-themed café which not only provides adequate level of entertainment but also strives
to showcase, ignite and further mould your inner lead role character with your talents and skills.
At last, we work to create a sustainable business for our family, friends, and the local community
we live and run our coffee business in.

come to showcase and discover their hidden talent while having good time and coffee

CHAPTER II. MARKETING PLAN
PRODUCT
Ensuring that customer gets satisfied with the products and services that Kopiko Teatro
offers, it is one of the main goals of the team to produce on-the-go products – convenient, hasslefree, and affordable without compromising it quality. Although Kopiko Teatro is just on its
beginning phase, the team won’t stop towards continuous improvement, exploration and
development of new products that will fulfil both the needs and wants of the consumers.
The main product and service categories of Kopiko Teatro are listed as follows:
1.) Coffee Products – Coffiato, Classic Cappuccino, Dark Mocha, Thai Kahfe, Quatro
Leches & Kofjeli
2.) Coffee-Liquor Smoothies – Kaffe Verde & Mazagran
These variations of coffee products can be served either hot or chilled. Customers are
also free to choose whether what size they would procure: tall, grande, venti. More so, these
coffee products can also be added by Kopiko Teatro add-ons such as creams, syrups, pearls,
popping boba and many more.
3.) Baked Pastries & Sandwiches – Cheesecakes, Cupcakes, Clubhouse Sandwich and
Cheesy Toasted Sandwich
4.) Pica-Pica Foods – French Fries, Nachos, Popcorn, Mojos and Potato Chips
5.) Merchandise Products – keychains, t-shirts, hoodies, necklace, bracelets, glasses and etc.
6.) Service – KTV/Theatre Rooms and Open Stage for Performances
KTV/Theatre rooms can accommodate customers in order for them to complete their
theatre-like experience in this café. This can occupy 2-10 people to be rented upon reservations.
This service offers them to freely use the installed smart television where they can try karaoke,
movie marathon and such. Furthermore, there is also an open stage where artists can showcase
their talents may it be singing, spoken poetry, story-telling, dancing and the likes.
PLACE
Kopiko Teatro products and services’ are made available to customers by means of: (1)
physical café shop, (2) online commerce platforms such as listing on Instagram and Facebook
Business Profiles’ and (3) delivery services.
The physical café shop of Kopiko Teatro is located along Vergara Highway in front of
Cabanatuan Senior High School (CSHS) wherein within its nearby proximity, are several
universities, government offices, gasoline stations and the likes. Essentially, Kopiko Teatro’s
target market involves students, people who are always at rush, coffee lovers and generally
people who are seeking for a convenient, hassle-free and on-the-go products. By then, it is
properly aligned with the business’ place.
Added to this, pandemic also caused the increase amount of people who are engaging on
social media platforms – people of any age, making these spots a recommendable leeway to
introduce and distribute business products and services’. Relatively, Kopiko Teatro will also set
a business profile on Instagram and Facebook as these two are the leading social media platforms
as of 2022 wherein approximately one (1) billion people can share, communicate, and explore
freely. With this mentioned factor, Kopiko teatro will continually establish techniques and
nurture marketing skills in order to effectively distribute its products to consumers by the aid of
these platforms.
Additionally, Kopiko Teatro will also settle their delivery services so they can provide
products to consumers remotely. This will further increase the business sales and as well as
valued customers over time.

Furthermore, in Kopiko Teatro, the pricing strategy that will be used is Market
Penetration Pricing, which is essentially the opposite of price skimming. Instead of starting
high and slowly lowering prices, Kopiko Teatro take over a market by undercutting other
competitors as café and milktea shops are widespread in the area. Once we have developed a
reliable customer base, the prices will then be increased. Many factors go into deciding on this
strategy, like the business’ ability to potentially take losses upfront to establish a strong footing
in a market. Additionally, Kopiko Teatro will do its best on establishing a loyal customer base,
which can beneficially require other marketing and branding strategies.
PROMOTION
Throughout the business operation, Kopiko Teatro will continuously maintain and
increase product awareness of the public and as well as value creation through different
promotion strategies. In consideration to its numerous competitors, it is in vital need to rise
above the market. Some of the promotional strategies are as follows:
1.) Social Media Marketing
Along the evolution of our modern world towards digitalization, it is unquestionable how
social media has played a huge part in our everyday lives -- in all aspects as there may be. With
that being said, our team has decided that once everything is all set in our shop such as facilities
and products, we would then start on focusing for social media marketing. Specifically, some of
the most common social media application with the highest populace of users amongst all are of
course, (1) Facebook, (2) Twitter & (3) Instagram. Personally, me and my team had agreed that
Facebook is indeed more widespread and the most powerful platform if we would like to
increase our audience as its users already hit at around 2.6 billion; not to mention the total
amount of hours these people spent on using that application on a day to day basis.
Essentially, we would like to create a Facebook page depending on our survey's most
used application result. Upon creation, we would like to transform it to our canvas board where
we could share some updates, new menus, customer's feedbacks, general products & services
and as well as our message to our dear customers.
2.) Opening Discounts and Coupon Generation
Who would not want to save money right? Over time, sales, discounts, promos, coupons,
promotional rewards and the likes have been the getaway tactic of businesses in order to increase
sales without the customers noticing the direct and indirect effect of it towards the growth of a
business operation. However, we would also take into consideration those people who are not
genuinely fond of this matter.
As per the opening of our business, we would like to give an opening discounts, promo or
freebies such as a 'Buy 1 Take 1' or 'First 50 Customers will have a drink for free'. Though
sustaining customers would be challenge all along the journey, we would view this as small steps
unto even greater heights.
We also took in consideration the generation of coupons, which they can be use for a
long-term basis. Coupons do attracts customers. As mentioned previously, discounts are very
attractive to customers and may not only bring new clients but can also bring back previous
customers. More so, discounting products and services, particularly in-demand ones, is truly an
attention grabber.
Not but not the least, we also planned on going rewards as per part of promotion
and sustaining customers. For example, a customer have collected a total of 7 coffee stickers the
she can claim her Kopiko Teatro Limited Edition Notebook, if she gets 10 then she can get a
Kopiko Teatro Limited Edition Bucket Hat and the list goes on.
3.) Promotion by means of Influencers
Previously, the essence of social media in today's generation has been discussed. As part
of this, we also find collaboration to social media influencers a good meeting point for increasing
the demand of our products and services. People nowadays are highly proactive when it comes
with supporting public figures that they do love to connect with. The main process for this would
be: Kopiko Teatro would sponsor a social media influencer to promote our products and services
in exchange to something valuable for the other party as well. By then, it would be a win-win
situation. Social Media influencers are also a great passage to gather wider audience especially
their fans/subscribers. Based from our observation, there are times that when people really
admire their idols, they would give their best to use what this person are using, to eat what they
are eating, to go where they are going and so on -- asserting of course, their influence.
4.) Live Performance Contest with Prizes
In our business proposal, we have mentioned that Kopiko Teatro is not just about profit
from our products and services, for we also strive to bring the best in each people while they are
bringing the best in us. By the name itself, 'Teatro' we are establishing a theatre-like experiences
for our customers while enjoying their cup of coffee and other choices of meals as they would
like. In order to increase the demand of our establishment we would like to host contests with
prizes for the best live performers. In this case, we would be able to have the best as possible
performers who would like to compete; consequently, customers or their supporters would of
course, watch them performing in our cafe. More people, more customers. More customers, more
awareness. More awareness, a higher sustainability towards continuous growth. Aside from this,
of course performers would have the exposure that they need in order for them to be known and
who knows, they might be in greater places as well if only the right person would discover them.
5.) Print Media Infographics Distribution
Kopiko Teatro team also considers providing flyers or printed media infographics to
students, workers and generally in public in order to be aware of our business presence. With
this, their curiosity may brought them to trying and also spread their experience to their family,
teachers and peers. Distributing flyers is also convenient as it will provide the summary of the
nature of Kopiko Teatro and of course, the products and services that it could offer in one
viewing.
