1. Is learning Hydrocarbons important? Why or why not?
- Hydrocarbons are important because they got a lot of benefits in
daily consumptions. One importance of hydrocarbons in our
homes is methane which is used as the fuel needed in cooking
foods. Aside from this, some important hydrocarbon fuels are
gasoline, natural gas, fuel oil, diesel fuel, jet fuel, coal, kerosene,
and propane. Hydrocarbons are also used to make things,
including plastics and synthetic fabrics such as polyester.
2. How can Hydrocarbons be helpful in the real world?
- Hydrocarbons can be helpful in the real world since they are
considered the driving force for modern civilization by making
up fossil fuels. These fuels are used for combustion, specifically
in heating and motor fuel applications. Hydrocarbons like
propane and butane are used in lanterns, lighters, grills, and as
fuel for internal combustion units.
