Environmental Slay
Everything present around us is our environment. The environment plays a significant role to
support life on Earth. It nourishes us. But, our green world is now in jeopardy. The biggest threat to our
environment is not climate change, it’s us humans. We must tackle the challenges we have created by
opening our eyes.
The environment has been profoundly impacted by industrial growth. In the search for
development and progress, we are slowly poisoning our environment. A healthy environment is the only
means of our survival. The life of all beings, living and non-living, is with this environment. Mankind has
long been degrading the essential components of the environment. People emit more pollution for
more convenience. The selfish activities of men are the biggest threat to our ecosystem. We take more
than we can give. It’s not that we consciously choose to hurt the Earth — on the contrary, we are
mindless of our abusive behavior. Blinded by greed. People, unfortunately, forget that we are a part of
nature. We must live in harmony with nature and take care of it. We need to rethink how we consume
natural resources. People must be aware that the natural world is on the verge of collapse. As the
damage increases and expands, we slowly come to feel its consequences on our lives. We feel it in the
food we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe. Because of that, we come to realize that what
we’re doing to our environment, we’re indirectly doing to ourselves. People must recognize that they
are not the primary users of the environment and construct environmentally suitable homes. We must
consider future generations and what will be left behind after we are gone. People come up with
remedies to environmental issues. We recycle trash, develop electric automobiles, reduce air, water,
and soil pollution, and restore land erosion by planting new trees. But it is not enough; people must
drastically alter their lifestyles until nature takes the last drastic measures.
We humans, have destroyed the natural cycle of the environment. The disturbance caused in
our environment affects the balance of life. What we have to do is recalibrate our minds and redirect
our steps because together, as a global community, our macro efforts could have a macro effect on our
environment.
