the 2000s, the proportion of women MPs elected in Finnish parliamentary elections remained
stable at 40%. The 2019 parliamentary elections set a new high of 47%. Women have
occupied all of Finland's highest political offices, including President of the Republic (2000),
Prime Ministers (2003, 2010, and Sanna Marin in 2019-), Minister of Finance (2011),
Minister of Foreign Affairs (1995), and Minister of Defence (1995). (1990) (Müller &
Tömmel, 2022, pp19-36) . Women make up 47% of MPs (2021), and 58% of Ministers (11
out of 19 in 2021) in the Government.
Women in Legislature and Cabinet
Finland's Prime Minister assumed office in December 2019, heading a coalition
government with all five party leaders being women. Twelve of the nineteen novel Finnish
cabinet memberships are women, placing Finland's government second only to Spain
regarding female ministers.

Service employees in Finland (2021). In 2017 and 2018, Toiviainen served as Deputy
Prosecutor General and as Acting Prosecutor General. She joined the Prosecutor General's
Office in 1997 and has since served as State Prosecutor and Head of the International Unit. In

The Kind of Power They Have
3
Both at the local and the national levels of government in Finland therefore, women
are in charge of making decisions. They have an impact on the decisions made at these levels
of government. They also work in business and the private sector, where they have an impact
on the choices made there for the success of the societies in Finland (Cini, 2022, pp95-111).
At the municipal level, many choices that have an impact on people's day-to-day lives, such
those regarding public services, are made.
What it tells About Women's Position Within Finland Society
Compared to males, Finnish women are significantly more friendly and gregarious,
and they frequently speak three or four languages. They have a respected standing in society
and business that is superior to that of women in the majority of other civilizations.
