Terms and conditions
COVID-19 Measures, Protocols, and Policies:
We do understand these are stressful times for everyone as we try to cope with the ongoing Pandemic. That is why we
feel these implementations and actions are necessary to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
COVID-19 Measures - Prior to Training:
All students must complete the Screening Questionnaire (click here to access) 24 hours before their in-class
training. You do not have to submit this to our office. If you are attending your training, you are confirming that your
answer is no to all of the questions asked in the questionnaire. If you answered YES to any of the questions, you
need to contact our office and reschedule your training. All students will be asked to complete and sign a copy of
this questionnaire on their training day and will only be allowed to attend the training if the answer to ALL questions
is NO.
The Canadian Red Cross societies have also asked all training partners to screen pre-existing conditions such as
allergies causing sneezing and reschedule the training if the participant has sneezing/flu-like symptoms. This extra due
diligence is requested from partners to ensure all participants feel safe and secure during the course. If this applies to
you, consult our office and we will work with you to find the most suitable option.
COVID-19 Measures - During Training:
The health and safety guidelines mandate all training providers to ensure all participants Wear a Face Mask during
their classes. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure they have the necessary coverings to enter the
training. As for the First Aid, CPR, BLS, FR, EMR, and other health and safety courses, the mask must be
worn during the entire training and cannot be removed unless directed by the instructor during the occasions
where proper physical distancing between students is maintained. (For instructions regarding swimming and
aquatic classes, please check the swimming terms and conditions section.)
⚠️
Failure to have a proper Face Mask would result in denial of your training without any
credit/refund. ⚠️ *Homemade Masks are not accepted
We recommend that students also wear a face shield during their training due to group activities that must be
performed in the class. Face shields are optional.
You may choose to purchase your supplies from us and simply pick it up on the day of your training by contacting us
via phone or email. You can also shop for Face Shields or other PPE items through Our Online Store (use Special
discount code: SafetyFirst). Please keep in mind that we will not be selling these items in our training centers. Note
that if you are ordering the supplies online, plan ahead, and remember to allow 4-6 business days for domestic
shipping.
⚠️
Please be advised that due to the nature of this course, there might be some group activities involved that
could make social distancing hard to maintain. That is why you are asked to wear your Face Mask during the
training. ⚠️
What Do We Do To Keep You Safe:
During our First Aid, CPR, BLS, and other health safety courses, student will receive all or parts of the following:

3) Implemented the use of strong disinfectant solutions to clean surfaces and equipment before and after each
training.
4)
Increased the availability of disinfectant wipes to clean manikins, training equipment, surfaces during the training
5)
Increased the availability of hand sanitizers in class to allow participants for quick hand cleaning
*Depends on the type of course and program that the students have registered
Handwashing is highly recommended to prevent the spread of viruses and pathogens and you might be asked to
wash your hands several times during the training. We recommend proper handwashing during the following
instances:
1)
Beginning and end of the class
2)
Before and after meals and snacks
Food and snack: Students are allowed to eat and drink in class during breaks. To prevent the spread of COVID-19,
please continue wash/sanitize hands prior to handling food and physical distance from classmates.
Textbooks: During the First Aid, CPR, BLS, and other health and safety classes, we will not be distributing
loaner textbooks in order to prevent cross-transmission of the diseases between students. You may download
the PDF version of the book from this course confirmation email and use your tablet/laptop/smartphone during the
class or you may purchase a hard copy version of the book in which will be distributed to you in class. Please
understand that these are the only two options feasible at this time; once the situation with COVID-19 is resolved, we
may return to our original practice of using loaner textbooks during the class.
Participants should use their own learning equipment each day including, manuals, worksheets, calculators,
notebooks, pens, pencils, etc. These items should not be shared with other participants.
