1. Describe the foundations of curriculum design as established by Doll, Dewey, and Bode.
 The foundation upon which curriculum is based are educational philosophies, historical
developments, psychological explanations, and societal influences. All of these foundations
are interrelated to each. Objectives and activities should group together when tasks are
clarified.
2. What are the differences between subject-centere designs, learner-centered designs, and
problem- centered designs?
 The curriculum design corresponds mostly to the textbook written for the specific subject, for
instance languages, mathematics, science, history, arts and many others. However, learnercentred curriculum focuses on certain aspects of the learners themselves. It may explore the
learner's surrounding environment.
3. Which design dimensions are the most important to create a viable curriculum? Make your case
for your response.
 The ultimate goal for curriculum design is to deepen learning and support students in gaining
important core competencies such as critical and creative thinking, skillful communication,
and demonstrating care for self and others.
4. What are the benefits of being knowledgeable of the various designs in modern and postmodern
frame-works, even if you do not subscribe to some of them?
 Postmodernism recognises the fluidity of current society and the changing relevance of the
media, power structures, globalisation, and other social changes. It challenges some
assumptions we make as a society. This may make sociologists approach research differently.
