SEMI 102 Engineering Mathematics 2
Final Project (50 points)
You may work in groups of up to 3 students.

y3
Given the above circuit
(i) Calculate the currents y1 to y5 and potentials at x1, x2 and x3 for the following resistor values and
current source. R1 = 1 KΩ , R2 = 2 KΩ, R3 = 3 KΩ, R4 = 4 KΩ, R5 = 5 KΩ, f2 = 2 mA
(ii) What happens to currents y1 to y5 and potentials at x1, x2 and x3 if R3 is very large (> 1 TΩ).

Express the system in block form (class notes)
Find inverse matrix and matrix multiplication.
You may use the any online matrix calculator or MATLAB.
1 KΩ maybe entered as 1e3 in the matrix calculator.
1 mA maybe entered as 1e-3 in the matrix calculator.
You may use copy and paste function in the matrix calculator
Once you are done, use Kirchoff’s Voltage Law and Current Law to double check your answer.

Write down the system in block form with all the values.
Do a screen capture, followed by cut and paste the immediate entries and calculations
that you performed with the matrix calculator.
Write down the final answers in V and mA.
Email the pdf version of the answer to chuabeelee@gmail.com by Dec 10th 2021 5 pm.
If you are working in groups, one person need to email the answer to me.
Make sure all your names and student IDs are on the answer.
